Background

Saint Joseph’s Sports Club Inc. was establised to to help support sporting activities associated with the school.    Sporting codes such as soccer, hockey and netball will continue to be managed and ran by a group of volunteers, however the sports club will assist with managing finances, including funding applications, and complaints that cannot be resolved at sporting code level.  

The sports club has recently been successful in its application for funding from the Lions Foundation for hockey, netball and soccer gear.   This helps reduce the amount of fees required to play these sports.

Membership

 The inital members of the club are 15 parents, teachers or friends of the school.  They will be joined by coaches, administrators and students who participate in sports assoiciated with the club.  Each sporting code will  produce a register of its members – and send a copy of that to the club committee to hold in the record book.  Allowance of membership can be assumed  in the absence of notice to the contrary.

The Committee 

The club is managed by a committee of 6 members.  The committe members for 2011 are:

• Grant Wilkinson (Treasurer)
• Pete Marshall (Chair/secretary)
• lucy Kleindienst (Teacher in charge of sport at the school)
• A representative from each of the current codes involved with the club being Neball, Hockey and Soccer

The committee will meet on an “as needs” basis .  A  meeting can be called on reasonable notice as required (eg. to deal with a complaint or advance a funding application).  If there is something you’d like the comittee to consider please let us know.  Notice will be provided to all club members for the AGM.
